There are many programs which make image editing an easier task, but if you just want a simple solution for viewing your images and nothing else, you need to look harder. MycView was originally designed to show images from a folder, in a slideshow, on machines without keyboards or mice. It has a minimal interface which you can use to view images in windowed or full screen mode, run slideshows and more.

There is no setup process to go through. The application comes in a zipped package, which is only 30 Kb large. You just need to unpack the files and run the .exe file. Due to its simplicity, MycView's impact on the computer's performance is negligible.

MycView features a very simple interface. It is a single window on which you can view images from a folder of your choosing. Clicking anywhere on the image will take you to the next one. If you hover with the mouse cursor in the lower area of this window, a series of thumbnails will slide in and you can click them to jump from one picture to another. A picture's resolution and size is displayed on its thumbnail and you can see its path as well, when the thumbnails are not enabled.

Right clicking a displayed image will reveal various actions in a context menu. You can use them to select a different images folder, jump to the first or last image, rotate or display them in full screen mode, zoom in or out and more. It is also possible to start a slideshow and change the seconds per image rate, by using options from the same context menu. Each of these actions can be performed via shortcut keys as well. They are displayed in the context menu, next to their corresponding options.

Pros

Although it seems basic, MycView is a very comfortable image viewer. It lets you browse through your images with great ease and perform any action from a single context menu. Moreover, the software is free, so it will not cost you anything to use it.

Cons

Additional editing options, besides rotating, would be a welcomed addition. If you are looking for a comfortable alternative to the tired Windows Photo Viewer, MycView will satisfy your needs.
